National Defence Procurement Authority
The National Defence Procurement Authority (NDPA) is a specialized government agency established under Executive Order No. 2 of 2023 (dated 1st November 2023) on the Organization of the Government of the Republic of Kenya.
The Authority plays a critical role in supporting the defence sector through the efficient, transparent, and accountable procurement of defence goods, works, and services. NDPA ensures that procurement processes are aligned with national security priorities and conducted in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
Operating within the framework of the Constitution of the Republic of Kenya, national security policies, and public procurement laws, NDPA is central to ensuring that the defence sector is adequately equipped to safeguard the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national interests of the Republic of Kenya.

Our Mandate
The National Defence Procurement Authority derives its mandate from Executive Order No. 2 of 2023 and the legal framework governing public procurement and national security in Kenya.
The Authority is responsible for:
- Facilitating and coordinating defence procurement processes
- Overseeing acquisition of defence goods, works, and services
- Ensuring compliance with procurement laws and policies
- Promoting transparency, accountability, and efficiency
- Supporting national defence objectives through strategic procurement
